Frank Lampard will miss Chelsea's double header with Manchester United after being ruled out for two weeks with a calf strain.

Frank Lampard will miss Chelsea's clash with Manchester United on Sunday after being ruled out for two weeks with a calf injury.

The England midfielder limped out of Chelsea's midweek Champions League defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk after aggravating the problem he initially picked up prior to the international break.

Roberto Di Matteo's gamble with Lampard's fitness has backfired, with the 34-year-old now expected to be unavailable for a fortnight.

As well as this weekend's meeting at Stamford Bridge, Lampard will miss the League Cup clash with United and the return fixture against Shakhtar.
