Roy Hodgson rules out England return for John Terry

England manager Roy Hodgson says that he will not ask John Terry to come out of international retirement following reports that the Chelsea skipper could return.

England manager Roy Hodgson has insisted that he has no plans to turn to Chelsea captain John Terry in the future.

There have been suggestions that the 32-year-old could be asked to reconsider his international retirement due to the Three Lions' defensive concerns.

However, Hodgson has claimed that he will stick with the likes of Gary Cahill, Phil Jagielka and Chris Smalling.

"We've moved on from that," Sky Sports News quotes Hodgson as saying. "John retired. We've qualified with our 10 matches and 10 matches with Gary Cahill and Phil Jagielka.

"I think it's important that we continue along those lines, continue looking forward and that we don't start panicking and looking backwards every time we have a reverse."

England succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Germany in last night's friendly at Wembley.
