Chelsea's Ryan Bertrand is hoping to make a lasting impression while on international duty with England.

Chelsea full-back Ryan Bertrand has conceded that he cannot wait to represent England at senior level.

The 23-year-old has been tipped to start tomorrow night's friendly against Italy, which is being played in Switzerland.

Ahead of his potential debut for the Three Lions, the defender has revealed that he is keen to make an impression in order to gain a recall.

"It's fantastic to get the call," he told the FA's official website. "I feel ready and I'm just looking forward to going out there and getting that experience under my belt.

"Coming into the side for the first time [the younger players] obviously want to give a good account of ourselves and be recalled in future games."

Bertrand was part of the Team GB squad that competed at the London Olympics.
