Chelsea reportedly made the decision to part ways with Antonio Conte due to a breakdown in communication and disagreements with a number of his first-team squad.

Chelsea have reportedly decided to sack Antonio Conte due to a breakdown in communication with the club's board and disagreements with a number of first-team players.

Since the end of last season, it has been reported that Conte would leave Chelsea this summer and on Friday morning, the Blues finally confirmed that their head coach had departed Stamford Bridge.

According to Sky Sports News, a number of relationships involving Conte had broken down, including with the club's hierarchy with Conte having previously indicated that he was not able to sign his desired transfer targets.

The report also suggests that several players in Conte's squad had been 'alienated', with it previously being claimed that Willian had grown unhappy under Conte last season.

Chelsea are said to be contesting the £9m fee which Conte is due in compensation with 12 months of his contract still remaining.

Former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri is expected to be announced as Conte's replacement in the coming days.
