Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is reportedly open to sacking interim boss Rafael Benitez before the end of the season.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is reportedly willing to end Rafael Benitez's term at the helm of Stamford Bridge before the end of the season.

The former Liverpool boss has failed to settle into his role at the West London club, with inconsistent results matched by constant unrest from the supporters.

It is believed that the club's hierarchy are concerned that the Spaniard will be unable to clinch a Champions League spot for the Blues by the end of the season and he could lose his interim job early, according to the Daily Star.

Benitez has come under more pressure when his side were forced into an FA Cup fourth-round replay against Brentford following a 2-2 draw at Griffin Park.
