Chelsea full-back Ryan Bertrand deletes his Twitter account following his angry reaction to the news that he had dropped out of the England squad with a sore throat.

Chelsea full-back Ryan Bertrand has deleted his Twitter account after sparking criticism following his removal from the England squad last week.

The 23-year-old took to the social network site to blast users who accused the defender of pulling out of the Three Lions squad that won 5-0 against San Marino on Friday due to a sore throat.

The Blues player retaliated by claiming that he had withdrawn from the squad due to illness and insisted that he would not have given up the chance to play in Roy Hodgson's side just because of a sore throat.

Bertrand ended the tweet with "#yourf***ingnuts" but he swiftly deleted the post and apologised for his reaction.

Despite not facing any action from the Football Association, the full-back, who will not be available for England's 2014 World Cup qualifier against Poland tomorrow, has removed his Twitter account.
