Chelsea's Demba Ba: 'I have been patient'

Demba Ba believes that he was rewarded for his patience by scoring twice during Chelsea's win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Chelsea striker Demba Ba has claimed that he was rewarded for his patience after scoring two goals during Saturday's win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

The 28-year-old, who has seen his first-team chances limited this season, came off the bench to find the net twice late on during the Blues' victory.

The win has seen Chelsea open up a seven-point gap at the top of the table.

"It was a good win, a very important win for the rest of the season and personally not bad as well," Ba told the club's official website.

"I have been patient and with patience comes the reward, so I just keep doing what I have to do, training hard and working hard and the reward is coming.

"Sometimes not playing it is hard because football is part of my life, it what I like doing and it is what I can do, and when you don't get so much time playing you just keep working and wait, because the other option is just giving up and that is not me."

Chelsea return to Premier League action on Saturday when they make the trip to Aston Villa.
