Goals from Stevan Jovetic and Ivan Perisic have earned Inter Milan a 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the International Champions Cup.

Jovetic netted in added-on time at the end of the first half after seeing his penalty saved by Thibaut Courtois, before Perisic produced a fine finish soon after the restart.

Chelsea halved the deficit when Inter's Geoffrey Kondogbia scored a 45-yard own goal, but they could not force an equaliser as they lost their second game in the space of four days.

Hello, and welcome to Sports Mole's live coverage of the match in the International Champions Cup between Chelsea and Inter Milan.

The matches continue to come thick and fast in the International Champions Cup and today's offering begins with the showdown between Chelsea and Inter Milan in Singapore. The two clubs have spent the last week or so touring Asia and they will return back to their respective nations after the conclusion of what we hope will be an entertaining encounter in front of a group of fans who have enjoyed witnessing some of the best teams in the world compete on their doorstep.

Given the start date of their respective leagues, Chelsea should be ahead of Inter in terms of fitness and match action but that's not the case. While Inter have already competed in five friendlies, this is just the third official outing for Chelsea, who are just two weeks away from the start of the Premier League. It's a different approach from Antonio Conte, but one where we will have to wait and see whether it is successful of not.

Anyway, without further ado, let's get cracking with the team news. Inter will follow a bit later but first, here is the Chelsea starting lineup.

CHELSEA XI: Courtois; Azpilicueta, David Luiz, Cahill; Moses, Kante, Fabregas, Alonso; Willian, Batshuayi, Morata

Given the injuries to Pedro and Eden Hazard, I imagine that this will be the team which starts against Arsenal in next weekend's Community Shield. Alvaro Morata gets his full debut in a Blues shirt, but it appears that he will be used on the flank with Michy Batshuayi taking the number-nine role. Antonio Rudiger is only named on the substitutes' bench, but we expect to see him at some point in the second half.

INTER MILAN XI: Padelli; D'Ambrosio, Skriniar, Miranda, Nagatomo; Borja Valero, Gagliardini; Candreva, Brozovic, Perisic; Jovetic

Inter aren't at full strength this evening but Luciano Spalletti still selects a strong lineup. All eyes will be on Ivan Perisic, who has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United. If he impresses against Chelsea, it may just encourage Jose Mourinho to move closer to Inter's valuation. He features alongside Stevan Jovetic in attack, with the Montenegro attacker having returned from a loan spell with Sevilla. Former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Borja Valero also gets a start.

HEAD TO HEAD! While there has been meetings in friendlies in the past, there have been just two competitive matches between the two teams. They came back in 2010 at the last-16 stage of the Champions League, with former Chelsea boss Mourinho leading Inter to a 3-1 aggregate success.

Decent setup in Singapore, isn't it? This stadium will be packed in just over half-an-hour. Despite Kenedy's behaviour in China, Chelsea are gaining new fans in Asia. They will be eager to put on a show in this game.

While Chelsea lost out to Bayern in that last match, Antonio Conte was quick to point out the positives. There were negatives, of course - the Premier League champions were 3-0 down after just 27 minutes - but they also showed the qualities to not only get back into the contest, but count themselves unlucky not to salvage a draw towards the end. They were fortunate to only concede the three goals but at the same, they did not make the most of their opportunities.

With Morata having only just joined the club, the onus remained on Batshuayi to try to further impress his head coach, who is allegedly looking to bring in Fernando Llorente as backup to Morata. From the outside, it appears to be a needless signing because whenever called upon, Batshuayi has provided goals for his team, and he has also netted three goals during pre-season, as well as a few more in a behind-closed-doors game with Fulham. If he makes another positive contribution in this match, Conte will have a decision to make.

As well as Llorente, Conte is allegedly after players who can play at wing-back and in central midfield. The Italian is fielding his first-choice players in each position but the backup is bare and it is an issue which needs rectifying. The West Londoners are being linked with numerous players and your best bit to find out who is by clicking on their homepage.

Remaining on the subject of Conte, he reportedly had the chance to move to the San Siro before extending his contract with Chelsea. It was some offer, too, with record-breaking wages and a huge warchest to try to restore Inter to the top of Serie A. We are sure that Conte was attracted to the challenge as well. It's been played down in the media but it was a statement of his commitment to Chelsea that he rejected the chance to return to his homeland. He may get to see first hand today whether he will have any regrets.

While there has been talk of millions being spent at Inter, it is yet to fully materialise. As much as €27m has been spent so far, but it's not really what the supporters were expecting. New signings Daniele Padelli, Milan Skriniar and Borja Valero all feature today, but they are yet to bring in a marquee addition which will mark the arrival of Spalletti.

However, despite that, they have kept clean sheets in their outings against both Lyon and Bayern Munich. Some will insist that you cannot take too much away from friendlies, but shutting out a solid European outfit and one of the best on the continent is a fine achievement. They may find it tougher to keep out Chelsea, but they are seemingly beginning to build a solid basis at the back.

PREDICTION! It's difficult to predict that a friendly will be low-scoring, but that's what we are going with today. Inter will look to keep things tight, while the emphasis will be on Chelsea to take the game by the scruff of the neck. We think that they may cancel each other out, so we are going for a 1-1 draw.

The teams have made their way out at the Singapore National Stadium. We will be underway very shortly.

Chelsea get us underway.

It has been a positive start from Chelsea, who pass the ball about freely before Luiz launches a long ball through to Morata. It's not a bad pass but it has too much power on it and Padelli is able to claim.

CHANCE! It has been a positive response from Inter, too. A long ball from D'Ambrosio caused all sorts of problems for the Chelsea defence but a combination of Courtois and Cahill finally saw off the danger.

CHANCE! It's been a very open start. Chelsea are soon back on the offensive through Willian but after finding Morata, his weak effort from close range is comfortably saved by Padelli.

SHOT! There's certainly no lack of desire to get forward in this match. Gagliardini is the next to try his luck but his shot from distance goes wide of the post.

There's still an end-to-end feel to the start of this contest but the chances are beginning to dry out now. You have to be impressed with both side's intent.

Chelsea fans will be encouraged by how much Morata has been involved during the early stages. He's not necessarily looking like scoring every time he touches the ball but his touches and movement are causing problems for Inter.

SHOT! The same can be said of Batshuayi. He's not one of these strikers who drifts in and out of games. He always looks lively and ready to run onto a long pass and he does so here from Fabregas, only to send his shot high over the crossbar.

Chelsea have had to deal with an injury problem to Cahill over the past couple of minutes but he appears fit enough to continue. I suppose he feels he has to after just being given the captain's armband by Conte.

It has started to quieten down into the kind of friendly we predicted before kickoff. There's plenty of ambition from both sides but they really are cancelling each other out. Both goalkeepers haven't had a real save to make.

CHANCES! Much more threatening from Chelsea. Firstly, Luiz sees a header blocked by a defender before the ball found its way to Willian, who had his strike deflected marginally over the crossbar.

SHOT! Maybe Chelsea are warming to this now. They win a free kick on the edge of the penalty area, with Luiz drilling an effort marginally wide of Padelli's post.

A drinks break has prevented Chelsea from continuing to build up some momentum in the Inter half. They remain on the offensive, but the Italian side look more settled than they were five minutes ago.

CHANCE! Batshuayi continues to prefer the direct route to goal and he is almost successful after capitalising on a porr clearance from Padelli. However, his close-range strike is well blocked and the opportunity is lost.

I think that is probably it for the first half. It has promised much but the end result has been lacking. Both Conte and Spalletti will probably demand more from their players at the break.

Well, maybe not. There are going to be four minutes of added-on time.

PENALTY TO INTER MILAN!

GOAL! Chelsea 0-1 Inter Milan (Jovetic)

This is a shocker of a decision from the referee. Azpilicueta wins the ball off Jovetic in the area but a penalty is given! Courtois dives to his right to save the spot kick from Jovetic, but he converts on the rebound. Harsh on Chelsea.

HALF TIME: Chelsea 0-1 Inter Milan

The half-time whistle goes in Singapore and Chelsea are behind after that goal from Jovetic. Going in level would have been fair, but that controversial decision from the referee has swung the match in Inter's favour.

Inter get us back underway in Singapore.

This is poor again from the officials but this time, it goes in Chelsea's favour. Jovetic finds the back of the net on the rebound after Courtois saved from Brozovic. There's an Inter player offside but it's not Jovetic. The goal should stand, but it is chalked off by the assistant.

CHANCE! Chelsea should be level. A mistake in the Inter half leads to Fabregas teeing up Batshuayi, but the Belgian sends his shot wide of the far post when he should be at least hitting the target.

GOAL! Chelsea 0-2 Inter Milan (Perisic)

This certainly isn't what Chelsea had planned for this match. Jovetic turns provider to set up Perisic and although the angle is against him, he manages to find the bottom corner of Courtois's net.

SUBSTITUTION! Moments after that goal, Rudiger was introduced for Alonso.

Maybe this is Inter's superior fitness telling. Chelsea should be relatively up to speed but they are starting to become second best to a really solid-looking Inter. Spalleitti has got this team working well and with new signings still to come, things are looking bright for the Serie A giants.

SUBSTITUTIONS! It's Inter's turn to make a couple of changes. Candreva and Jovetic are the players to make way, with Geoffrey Kondogbia and Joao Mario coming on. It gets no easier for Chelsea.

CHANCE! Chelsea are beginning to fade and Inter are determined to take full advantage. A rapid counter attack is led by Perisic and Joao Mario and after Perisic is unselfish in teeing up his Portuguese teammate, he is denied by a super save from Courtois.

SUBSTITUTIONS! Unsurprisingly, Conte makes a couple of changes, with Morata and Willian coming off and Charly Musonda and Jeremie Boga being given another opportunity to make an impact.

There are more goals in this for Inter. Perisic is starting to torment the Chelsea backline. I think Mourinho is going to have to pay over the odds if he wants the Croatian international at Old Trafford.

CHANCE! It's only a half chance for Chelsea but they will take all they can get at the moment. A corner caused confusion in the Inter penalty area but Rudiger doesn't make a proper connection and Padelli makes the save.

GOAL! Chelsea 1-2 Inter Milan (Kondogbia own goal)

Kondogbia scores a 45-yard own goal. The ball actually finds the top corner as well. I promise, this has actually happened. I can't explain any clearer than that. Chelsea are back in it.

Out of nowhere, you would now fancy Chelsea to find an equaliser. Cahill almost does just that when meeting the ball from a corner but his header is straight at Padelli.

SHOT! It's Musonda's turn to test Padelli with a low attempt towards the bottom corner but the Inter stopper is equal to it.

It's still all Chelsea. This is how it went against Bayern. They were all over the place before finding a second wind near the closing stages.

The officials have now made three mistakes as far as goals are concerned in this match. That is ridiculously bad. Batshuayi rightfully thinks he has netted an equaliser for Chelsea but he is ruled to be offside. I've lost track how many goals should have counted and not counted.

There will be five minutes of added-on time.

Cuevas tries to make a memorable impact for Chelsea but his shot is saved by Padelli, who looks a fine understudy to Handanovic.

FULL TIME: Chelsea 1-2 Inter Milan

The full-time whistle goes in Singapore and Inter have held on to secure a 2-1 victory over the Premier League champions. Both teams had their moments, but Chelsea can have few complaints after suffering their second successive defeat of pre-season.

That will be all from Sports Mole for this match. Thank you for joining us today and be sure to stick around for several other games we have in store for you later. Goodbye for now.
