Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti has insisted that he will "strongly oppose" any potential sale of winger and Manchester United target Ivan Perisic.
Jose Mourinho made his interest in the 28-year-old clear at the start of the summer, but since then the Old Trafford hierarchy have been frustrated in their pursuit of the Croatia international, who is reported to be valued by Inter at around £48m.
"Until now, there hasn't been any important contact," said Spalletti, according to Sky Sports News.
"There was something you already know about at the beginning of the window [but] there was no follow-up and so, for me, the topic is over.
"It's true as time goes by, it becomes more and more difficult to replace him with another player. I will strongly oppose the sale of Perisic if an offer comes."
Perisic enjoyed a standout 2016-17 campaign for Inter, having notched 11 goals and six assists last term.
