Team News: Danny Drinkwater in line to make Chelsea debut against Everton

Danny Drinkwater is in line to make his Chelsea debut as he is selected in the starting XI for Wednesday night's EFL Cup encounter with Everton at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has made nine changes to his starting XI ahead of their EFL Cup fourth-round encounter with Everton at Stamford Bridge.

Danny Drinkwater has been drafted in for his Blues debut following the midfielder's £35m deadline-day move from Leicester City and recovery from a calf injury.

Teenage defensive midfielder Ethan Ampadu will also make his first senior start for Chelsea in a much-changed team from the one that won 4-2 against Watford at the weekend.

As for Everton, interim manager David Unsworth has made five changes from the side that lost 5-2 at Arsenal on Sunday.

Beni Baningime makes his first senior appearance for the Toffees, having impressed for the Under-23s.

Jordan Pickford, Wayne Rooney and Ashley Williams all start for the visitors tonight, but there is no place for the likes of Michael Keane, Gylfi Sigurdsson or Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Chelsea: Caballero, Rudiger, Christensen, Cahill, Zappacosta, Drinkwater, Ampadou, Kenedy, Musonda, Willian, Batshuayi
Subs: Eduardo, Clarke-Salter, Sterling, Scott, Fabregas, Pedro, Morata

Everton: Pickford, Baines, Williams, Jagielka, Kenny, Baningime, McCarthy, Davies, Lennon, Mirallas, Rooney
Subs: Robles, Keane, Sigurdsson, Niasse, Calvert-Lewin, Holgate, Lookman
