Gary Cahill warns Chelsea to get over Bradford City shock for Liverpool test

Gary Cahill warns that Chelsea run the risk of being dumped out of another competition if they rest on their laurels against Liverpool in their League Cup semi-final.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has said that Saturday's defeat to Bradford City has acted as a "wake-up call" ahead of facing Liverpool tonight.

The Blues bowed out of the FA Cup after losing 4-2 to the Bantams at Stamford Bridge in arguably the biggest shock that the competition has offered in recent years.

Jose Mourinho's side now host the Reds in their second-leg Capital One Cup semi-final, and Cahill warns that his teammates must forget about what happened at the weekend.

"It was unbelievable what happened. It was a shock - a wake-up call. We have a huge game against Liverpool now that we have to go all-in," he told The Mirror.

"The obvious thing will happen if you play like that against good teams. I don't think anyone has seen us play like we did against Bradford at Stamford Bridge many times.

"After the game, we all felt absolutely terrible. But we have to get that out of our system to be ready."

The scores are tied at 1-1 following last week's draw at Anfield.
