Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte says that he is worried about the fitness of Alvaro Morata after the forward was ruled out of the game with West Bromwich Albion.

Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte has revealed that Alvaro Morata will play no part in Monday's Premier League fixture with West Bromwich Albion.

After initially struggling for form, Morata sustained a back injury and has been absent from the first-team squad since January 17.

Conte has suggested that he is growing increasingly concerned over the Spaniard, who remains a fitness doubt ahead of the club's Champions League fixture with Barcelona later this month.

At his pre-match press conference, the 48-year-old told reporters: "Players like Morata we are missing for a long period. I don't know, he is trying to stop this pain in his back.

"I don't know and for this reason I am a bit worried as you know very well the importance of this player."

Morata has scored 12 goals from 23 starts and seven substitute appearances in all competitions this season.
