Chelsea, Belgium playmaker Eden Hazard: 'I want to the star of Euro 2016'

Chelsea and Belgium playmaker Eden Hazard says that he wants to be the "star" of Euro 2016 this summer.

Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard has admitted that he wants to be the "star" of this summer's Euro 2016 when he represents Belgium in the tournament.

The 25-year-old has had a troublesome season with Chelsea as he has struggled to find form and has been forced to the sidelines for spells with a hip injury.

Despite not hitting the heights in the Premier League this season, Hazard is hopeful that he will perform well for Belgium in France this summer.

"Being out [injured] is not cool but it allows you to be able to relax and get some rest," The Mirror quotes Hazard as saying. "So I will probably be fresher for the European Championships but we'll see whether it was a good thing or a bad thing.

"I want to be the star of the European Championship. I'm going to give the maximum in order to succeed and I hope that I will be ready at the start of the tournament.

"I hope to be 100% and not have to bother with more injuries. I will give everything to win the European Championship. You never know."

Belgium's first group game at Euro 2016 is against Italy on June 13.
