Petr Cech bemoans lack of Football Association help

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech bemoans the lack of help from the Football Association as they bid to win the Champions League.

Petr Cech believes that Chelsea's attempts to win the Champions League are being undermined the Football Association's refusal to help with the fixture schedule.

The Blues won the 2012 Champions League, before lifting last season's Europa League trophy, and the goalkeeper has claimed that the governing body have done little to help them, despite the club's performances improving England's coefficient.

He told The Mirror: "It's not easy chasing things at this stage of the season. If you get help from the FA and games are moved, you can generate enough energy to play the matches.

"I think generally in the last few years we've been saving the English coefficient in the Champions League but we never get any help in terms of the schedule.

"The Germans always play on a Friday and the Italians always play on a Friday. Atletico Madrid will play on Thursday I think just to make sure they're ready to keep the glory of the La Liga in the Champions League. So I think the FA should do the same."

Jose Mourinho's side beat Swansea City 1-0 on Sunday.
