Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will not play against parent club Chelsea in the Champions League semi-finals, should the pair be drawn together.
The 21-year-old could have been deployed against the Blues, but it would involve the Spanish side paying a fee of around £8m, according to FourFourTwo.
"If we draw Chelsea, Courtois won't play. It is a figure we cannot pay," Atletico president Enrique Cerezo told Onda Cero.
Courtois, who has featured nine times for Atletico in the competition this season, is expected to return to Chelsea at the end of the season following three years at the La Liga club.
The draw for the Champions League semi-finals takes place tomorrow morning, with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid joining Chelsea and Atletico in the hat.
