Charlton Athletic have completed the signing of Richard Wood on a free transfer.
The defender has been training with the club over the summer after leaving Coventry City at the end of last season, and has now signed a one-year deal at The Valley.
"Richard's impressed during pre-season and it's good to finally get the deal done," said Charlton manager Chris Powell.
"He's a left-footed centre-half who gives us options along the backline and we're happy to have him on board."
The 28-year-old, who has also played for Sheffield Wednesday in the past, enjoyed a stint as captain of Coventry.
