Cardiff City and Barnsley completed a goalless first half at the Cardiff City Stadium in the Championship this evening.
The home side dominated for much of the opening 45 minutes, but were unable to get the better of Luke Steele in the Tykes' goal.
Steele had to make a save inside the opening minute, as Tommy Smith took a strike from 30 yards out.
The home side continued their bright start, with Craig Bellamy having a shot two minutes later, but his effort crept wide.
Bellamy came even closer to an opening goal in the 17th minute, when his close-range strike bounced back off the post following a cross from Smith.
Jordan Mutch also had an effort from distance, but Steele made yet another save to keep the sides level heading into half time.
