Team GB have booked their spot in the next round of the Olympics following a 3-0 victory over Cameroon in Cardiff.

It was Cameroon who started the better, and they had the first real chance of the afternoon after 10 minutes when Adrienne Iven tested the palms of Karen Bardsley.

Team GB's clearest opening fell to Kelly Smith when she danced into the Cameroon box after 13 minutes, but she was just crowded out in the final moments.

Eniola Aluko remained Team GB's biggest threat in the opening stages, however, with her direct running causing the opposition back-line a host of problems.

Team GB took the lead, however, after 18 minutes when Casey Stoner tapped home from close range following a fine cross from Stephanie Houghton.

It was quickly 2-0 five minutes later when Jill Scott slotted under Annette Ngo Ndom following a sweeping Team GB move.

Chances continued to fall the home side's way late in the half, and Smith just curled a free-kick wide after 40 minutes, before Ngo Ndom palmed a Houghton header wide.

Asante might have added a third for Team GB after 50 minutes, but she struck wide, before Madeleine Mani Ngono tested the palms of Bardsley.

Ajara Nchout was next to come close for Cameroon, while Kim Little might have added a third with 10 minutes remaining.

The third eventually came when Houghton thumped an effort into the corner after an intelligent link-up with Little.
