Goals from Jeff Hendrick and Craig Bryson give Derby County a 2-0 lead over Bristol Rovers at half time.

Derby County lead Bristol Rovers 2-0 at half time in the Championship clash at Ashton Gate.

The first chance fell to Derby County after six minutes, Paul Coutts crossing low to Michael Jacobs, who saw his effort saved well by Tom Heaton.

A long-range strike from Coutts tested Heaton once again, though the goalkeeper was equal to it.

The Rams took the lead after 34 minutes after Jacobs's cross was met on the volley by Jeff Hendrick, who made it 1-0.

The away side doubled their lead just three minutes later when Gareth Roberts crossed into the box and Craig Bryson headed home.
