Barcelona have no interest in selling one of their star players to Manchester City amid reports of the Citizens preparing a €100m summer bid.

Barcelona have no interest in selling Manchester City-linked midfielder Pedri, according to a report.

The 22-year-old's progress with the Catalan giants is alleged to have caught the attention of Man City, with one recent report claiming that they are willing to make a 'multi-million-dollar offer' to convince the Canary Island talent to move to the Etihad Stadium.

Former Barca boss Pep Guardiola is said to see Pedri as the 'ideal player' to 'continue his style of play' at Man City, who are expected to prioritise the addition of a new midfielder this summer amidst uncertainty over the future of Kevin De Bruyne.

According to Spanish news outlet Marca, Barca understand that it is only natural that a number of major European clubs would want to pursue Pedri due to his 'outstanding quality'.

However, the report adds that officials of the La Liga leaders have 'no record' of Man City's interest in the Spain international, who is not for sale at any price.

Barca are said to be calm about Pedri's future despite some reports claiming that the Premier League giants are preparing a €100m bid for the midfielder.

Man City dealt Pedri transfer blow as Barca remain 'calm' over star's future

Pedri committed his future to Camp Nou in January by putting pen to paper on a new long-term contract until June 2030, and the former Las Palmas youngster has no intention of leaving Barca any time soon.

"I imagined this since I was little, and reality always surpasses dreams," Pedri told reporters. "I'm very happy to renew and prolong this dream. Now, I have to go for it and keep winning titles.

"Signing is the most beautiful thing that's happened to me in a long time, and I'm happy to be where I love most."

Pedri has spent almost five full seasons with the Catalan giants and in that time has developed into an influential first-team star, recording 25 goals and 20 assists in 187 appearances across all competitions, chipping in with five goals and seven assists in 44 matches so far this season.

Only Jules Kounde (3,721) has played more minutes for Barcelona this season than Pedri (3,462), who has been labelled the best midfielder in world football by his manager Hansi Flick.

"I keep saying that for me Pedri is the best midfielder in the world now," Flick told reporters last week. "It's a pleasure to watch him playing, he's fantastic...an unbelievable player".

Pedri has played a key part in Barcelona's success so far this term, with Flick's side currently sitting three points clear at the top of La Liga and remain on course to win the treble as they are also still competing in the Copa del Rey and Champions League.
