Swedish youngster Peter Gwargis signs for Brighton & Hove Albion

Swedish youngster Peter Gwargis signs for Brighton & Hove Albion on a three-year deal.

Brighton & Hove Albion have concluded their summer transfer business with the signing of young midfielder Peter Gwargis from Swedish second-tier side Jonkopings Sodra IF.

The 17-year-old will link up with the Seagulls' Under-23s side for the coming campaign as he adapts to life in English football.

Gwargis, who has been handed a three-year contract at the Amex Stadium, fired three goals and claimed three assists in 17 appearances last term.

Brighton youth team boss Simon Rusk told the club's official website: "We are delighted to welcome Peter to the club. He will compliment the options we already have in the Under-23s squad, at the same time as continuing his own development.

"Peter has benefited from playing first-team football in Sweden over the past couple of seasons, and he will now take on a different challenge with us in the Premier League 2."

Gwargis has also represented Sweden at Under-17s level on three occasions.
