Leon Best makes Brighton & Hove Albion loan switch

Blackburn Rovers striker Leon Best joins Brighton on loan until the end of the season.

Brighton & Hove Albion have confirmed the signing of Blackburn Rovers striker Leon Best on loan until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old is available for tomorrow's clash at home to Ipswich Town in the Championship.

Best spent the early part of the campaign on loan at Derby County, where he failed to score in 20 games.

"I know Leon very well, having signed him during my time at Newcastle and I am delighted to have him here," manager Chris Hughton told Brighton's official website.

"He is a strong, physical presence, he knows the Championship and knows the position we are in. We wanted new faces, to freshen up the squad, and Leon will add competition alongside our existing strikers."

Brighton currently occupy 19th place in the Championship table.
