Brentford have reportedly rejected a £5.5m offer from Bournemouth for centre-back Chris Mepham.
The 20-year-old defender has impressed since breaking into the Brentford first team on a regular basis last month, drawing interest from the Premier League Cherries.
Sky Sports News reports that Eddie Howe's side have lodged a formal £5.5m offer for the Wales Under-21 international, only for Brentford to knock back the offer.
The bid is understood to have included a number of potential add-ons, while Brentford are determined to keep hold of the youngster for the rest of the season.
Brentford currently sit 11th in the Championship table, five points adrift of the playoff places.
