Mark Warburton 'not disappointed' with Cardiff City defeat

Manager Mark Warburton insists that he is 'not disappointed' by Brentford's 2-1 Championship loss to Cardiff.

Brentford manager Mark Warburton has said that he is not disappointed with their 2-1 Championship loss to Cardiff City today.

The Bees took a lead into half time thanks to Andre Gray's opener, but goals from Federico Macheda and Alex Revell won the match for Cardiff.

"If we go into the next game having lost and played badly that's one thing, but we lost and completely dominated the game so I'm not as disappointed as I might be," Warburton told TeamTalk.com.

"I'd like to have seen us try to unpick them with a little more though in the final few minutes instead of lifting balls into their box because we know we have the technical ability to do that.

"We knew that Cardiff would come and try to break the tempo, slow things down and delay but we have to deal with that and keep playing our football. We were good for the 1-0 and dominated the game but two lapses have cost us."

Brentford remain in sixth in the Championship table, but are now seven points behind the automatic promotion places.
