Half-Time Report: Lee Gregory puts Millwall ahead

Millwall lead 1-0 at half time following an early goal from Lee Gregory in their game against Brentford in the Championship.

Lee Gregory has given Millwall a 1-0 lead over London rivals Brentford in their meeting at Griffin Park in the Championship this afternoon.

Martyn Woolford tried to give the visitors an early lead when Ed Upson set him up for a rather ambitious effort from outside the box, but his strike was tipped away from the top corner.

Brentford soon started to dominate though, with Jonathan Douglas, Stuart Dallas and Alex Pritchard all seeing efforts blocked or go just wide inside the opening 10 minutes.

Jota had a chance to break the deadlock when Pritchard found him with a well-placed cross, but the winger's header could not get the better of David Forde, who tipped it behind.

Despite Brentford's dominance, it was Millwall who opened the scoring with just under half an hour gone as Gregory slotted the ball into the back of the net from an Upson through-ball.

Dallas almost got the Bees back on level terms when Pritchard slotted the ball through to him on the edge of the box, but Forde tipped his effort over before blocking another attempt from the striker from the resulting corner.
