Inter Milan midfielder Hernanes has said that he is delighted to have been called up to the Brazil squad for this summer's World Cup.
The 28-year-old was selected by manager Luiz Felipe Scolari for next month's tournament and he believes that he has been rewarded for the hard work he has put in during his time at Inter.
"My call-up? The joy has been immense," Hernanes told Inter Channel. "I have experienced great emotion and I am very happy to have achieved this objective.
"Only those born in Brazil can know what all of this means to me.
"When I arrived at Inter I said that I wanted to think about working hard and nothing else. Now, I have got my reward."
Hernanes has made 23 appearances for the Brazil national team and has scored twice.
