Half-Time Report: No goals at Valley Parade

Both sides hit the woodwork in a goalless first half between Bradford City and Reading at Valley Parade in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Bradford City and Reading have headed into half time level following a goalless first half at Valley Parade, despite both sides hitting the woodwork in the opening 45 minutes of the FA Cup quarter-final tie.

Bradford were on the attack early on as they try to cause yet another cup upset, but Jon Stead's flick-on for Billy Clarke resulted in the latter being crowded out before he could get the shot away.

There were few openings for the Royals in the first 20 minutes, but Daniel Williams came close to breaking the deadlock midway through the first half when he tried to squeeze the ball in at the near post, only to see his effort deflected away by Ben Williams in the Bradford goal.

Pavel Pogrebnyak appeared to have fired the ball past Williams shortly after, but his powerful effort from the edge of the box was kept out by the post, while another effort from the Russian moments later was claimed by the keeper.

Bradford started to threaten again in the final 10 minutes of the opening period, and hit the woodwork themselves shortly before the break when everyone missed a cross from Gary Liddle, but the upright spared the visitors.
