Goalkeeper Shwan Jalal leaves Bournemouth after six years

Goalkeeper Shwan Jalal is released by Bournemouth after six years at the club.

Bournemouth have released goalkeeper Shwan Jalal, ending the Iraqi's six-year stint with the Cherries.

The 30-year-old didn't feature at all this season, spending brief loan spells at Oxford United and Leyton Orient, but has been the number one in the past.

He started regularly between 2008 and 2011 and helped the club to promotion from League Two to League One in 2010.

Speaking of his departure to the club website, Jalal said: "It's going to take a while to sink in because I have been here for six years.

"To leave such a great club, which will always remain a massive part of my life, is going to be strange.

"But I'm proud and privileged to have played a part in its history and its rise up the leagues."

West Bromwich Albion loanee Lee Camp has been the number one this season as the club earned their highest-ever league finish.
