Eddie Howe: 'Bournemouth gave victory away against Swansea City'

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe admits that his side should have seen out a victory in their 2-2 Premier League draw with Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has admitted that his side should have seen out a victory in their 2-2 draw with Swansea City this afternoon.

The Cherries led 2-0 within 26 minutes at the Liberty Stadium thanks to goals from Joshua King and Dan Gosling, but an Andre Ayew goal followed by a Jonjo Shelvey penalty completed a first-half comeback for the Swans.

Howe's side had a number of shots on goal in the second half, but were unable to restore their lead, and Howe believes that his side must learn from the outcome of this afternoon's match.

"I am very, very proud of our players today," Howe told the club's official website. "We were excellent right from the start and got the two goals that, in my opinion, we deserved. But when you go two goals up in game you expect to win it. The result is all important.

"Some of our football, especially against Swansea who usually dominate possession here, has made me very proud. The only disappointing thing from us today was that when we scored our second they had two chances and then scored so soon after.

"I don't know if that was due to a lack of concentration on our behalf or whether Swansea just reacted well. But these are all things that we can learn from."

Bournemouth will face Everton in their next Premier League fixture on November 28.
