Eddie Howe believes that Bournemouth's performances are improving despite seeing the Cherries suffer a fourth consecutive away defeat at Tottenham Hotspur.

Eddie Howe has claimed that Bournemouth's performances are improving despite suffering a fourth consecutive away defeat.

The Cherries faced Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, Christian Eriksen's strike shortly after half time condemning Howe's side to a 1-0 loss.

Despite still waiting for a second Premier League win this season, the Bournemouth boss reckons that his team have a lot to be positive about based on their display against Spurs.

"We're encouraged by our performances of late," the 39-year-old told Sky Sports News after the match.

"At the start of the season we were concerned that we weren't performing and getting beaten which is the worst scenario. Suddenly performances are picking up and if we continue to play like that I'm sure we'll be fine.

"The lads delivered the game plan very well and we had two very clear chances. One is a great save from [Hugo] Lloris and that's how it is going for us unfortunately. Even towards the end of the game we decided to throw caution to the wind and we had a couple clear-cut chances."

The result sees Bournemouth remain 19th in the Premier League table.
