Jurgen Klopp: 'Borussia Dortmund took important step with victory'

Jurgen Klopp believes that struggling Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund took an "important step to recovery" with a 2-0 victory over Freiburg.

Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has claimed that his side took an "important step" in their season by beating Freiburg 2-0 to climb off the bottom in the Bundesliga.

After seeing more pressure piled on his shoulders with the defeat to Ausgburg in midweek, Klopp believes that his players showed more confidence in their approach to pick up just a fifth win of the season.

"It looked much better today. We were able to build on the Augsburg game," the Dortmund boss told Sky Deutschland. "To be brave in the decisive moments, you have to believe.

"I'm not surprised. I know what the team is capable of doing. The third goal was super play. You can see everything that goes with self confidence. This was an important step to recovery."

Dortmund are back in action against Mainz 05 at Signal Iduna Park next Friday.
