Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has revealed that he would prefer an early bid for Gary Cahill in the January transfer window.
The defender has been linked with moves to both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
However, Coyle believes that an early bid from a club would avoid any last-minute panicking in the window.
"If something comes in, it would probably be better sooner rather than later," he said.
"The further we get into the window it can make it a very difficult market.
"It's fraught with danger, we can all accept that."
