Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has maintained that he is unlikely to make a January move for Bolton centre-back Gary Cahill.
The 25-year-old, who has cemented a place in Fabio Capello's England squad recently, is tipped to move to a bigger club after transfers in the summer failed to materialise.
"Cahill is good enough to play Champions League, but he is not someone I would be interested in," said Wenger.
The Gunners and their North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur were heavily linked with an August move for the Englishman but Wenger says that Bolton were asking for too much.
"We were in the market in the summer, but at that time [Bolton] were greedy."
Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has recently resigned himself to the fact that Cahill will leave the Reebok Stadium in the near future.
Wenger has also ruled out a loan move for former striker Thierry Henry, who is training with the Gunners during the MLS off-season.
