Bolton Wanderers have emerged as a potential takeover target by a Saudi Arabian group looking to invest in English football, according to reports.
The Trotters, who are hoping to make a return to the Championship at the first time of asking, were rescued in a deal led by former striker Dean Holdsworth and his consortium earlier this year.
According to The Sun, the Saudi-based investors have already instructed lawyers to investigate how much it would cost to take over proceedings at the Lancashire club.
The report adds that chairman Ken Anderson and shareholder Holdsworth have big stakes in Wanderers and "no longer get on so, negotiations will be complicated".
Phil Parkinson's charges currently sit third in the League One table.
