Former Charlton Athletic boss Jose Riga has agreed a deal to become the new manager of Blackpool, according to reports.
Riga impressed during a short stint at The Valley last season, steering Charlton to safety in the Championship having replaced Chris Powell at the helm.
The Addicks opted against extending his short-term deal at the club, however, instead appointing Bob Peeters as the club's manager for the 2014-15 campaign.
Blackpool were also involved in a relegation scrap last season, suffering a torrid run of form to plummet down the table and only avoid the drop on the final day.
Caretaker boss Barry Ferguson, who succeeded Paul Ince in January, has since parted company with the Seasiders, and PA understands that Riga has now agreed to replace him.
The 56-year-old was rumoured to be in talks with chairman Karl Oyston earlier this week, and he is now understood to have settled on a one-year rolling contract.
An official announcement is expected by the end of this week.
