Barry Ferguson wants fans to get behind Blackpool

Blackpool caretaker manager Barry Ferguson hopes that the club's supporters will get behind the team when they take on Doncaster Rovers this weekend.

Blackpool caretaker manager Barry Ferguson has said that he wants Blackpool fans to get behind the team when Doncaster Rovers visit Bloomfield Road on Saturday.

The midfielder has taken charge of team affairs on a temporary basis following the sacking of Paul Ince on Tuesday.

Ferguson hopes that Blackpool will bring their nine-game winless run in the league to an end with a victory against Rovers.

"It's been a difficult period in the last eight or nine games but I think the fans will get behind us, no problem," he told the club's official website. "Once the boys go out on the pitch, I'm sure the fans will get right behind them.

"It's a massive game. We're eight points off the relegation zone and nine points off the play-offs so we're still in a healthy position in my eyes.

"There's 20 hard games to go but we've got to be positive. We've got a right good squad of players here. The main thing is that everybody gets behind the team."

Blackpool sit 14th in the Championship.
