Former Southampton boss Nigel Adkins is reportedly offered a quick return to football management with Blackpool.

Championship side Blackpool have reportedly offered Nigel Adkins an immediate return to management.

The 47-year-old was sacked as manager of Premier League side Southampton yesterday morning, despite the fact that he had guided the Saints to two successive promotions.

However, Blackpool, who have been without a manager since Michael Appleton took over at Blackburn Rovers last week, are keen for Adkins to lead their promotion challenge, according to the Blackpool Gazette.

Adkins has also previously managed Bangor City and Scunthorpe United.
