Captain Stephen Carr has signed a new one-year contract with Birmingham City.
The 35-year-old has become a key member of the Birmingham squad since arriving as a free agent in 2009.
Having secured the services of his skipper for another season, new Birmingham boss Lee Clark admitted that he was delighted to have Carr's experience to call upon.
"I'm delighted that Stephen Carr has agreed a new contract with the club as he is a very important player," he told the club's official website.
"I've worked with Stephen both as a player and a coach and I know that he's not just a fantastic, international-class player but he's also a leader.
"Stephen is a major influence both on the field and in the dressing room and he'll continue as my captain this season."
The full-back has made 106 league appearances for the Blues.
