Half-Time Report: Birmingham City lead Millwall at The Den

Goals from Jordan Ibe and Andrew Shinnie hand Birmingham City the lead at the break in their Championship clash with Millwall.

Birmingham City lead Millwall 3-2 at the break in their Championship clash at The Den.

The home side could have taken the lead in the 10th minute when Steve Morison found space inside the box, but Darren Randolph managed to keep his effort at bay from a tight angle.

Birmingham took the lead against the run of play through Jordan Ibe as the home side failed to clear Paul Caddis's cross and the midfielder fired a volleyed effort into the bottom corner.

However, the visitors responded when Scott McDonald lifted a ball over the top of the Blues defence and Morison latched onto it at the back post and drilled an effort past Randolph.

The parity lasted just five minutes as Lee Clark's side regained the lead when Tyler Blackett lifted a cross into the area and Andrew Shinnie nodded the ball into the corner from close range.
