Team News: Blackburn Rovers rotate in midfield

Blackburn make two changes in midfield for their Championship clash with Birmingham City, who are without suspended Manchester United loanee Jesse Lingard at Ewood Park.

Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has made two changes to his midfield for their Championship clash with Birmingham City at Ewood Park this afternoon.

Lee Williamson comes in for Chris Taylor, while Rudey Gestede makes way for Ruben Rochina, with both dropped players among the home substitutes. However, David Dunn (hamstring), Josh King (back) and Todd Kane (thigh) all miss out.

Rochina's inclusion is likely to see a change of shape from the Lancashire outfit, as he will operate behind lone forward Jordan Rhodes in a 4-5-1 system, rather than alongside the club's top scorer.

Birmingham make just the one alteration from their Boxing Day XI, with Andrew Shinnie replacing suspended Manchester United loanee Jesse Lingard, who may now have played his last game for the Blues.

Another loan star, Hull City's Aaron McLean, is unavailable due to a hamstring injury, and so Peter Lovenkrands is Lee Clark's most senior attacking option on the bench.

Blackburn: Eastwood; Henley, Dann, Hanley, Spurr; Cairney, Lowe, Williamson, Marshall; Rochina; Rhodes
Subs: Kean, Kilgallon, Campbell, Olsson, Taylor, Judge, Gestede

Birmingham: Randolph; Caddis, Bartley, Burn, Robinson; Adeyemi, Lee; Burke, Shinnie, Novak; Zigic
Subs: Doyle, Mullins, Reilly, Brown, Gray, Ferguson, Lovenkrands
