Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski admits that he had an "amazing evening" as he came off the bench to score five goals against Wolfsburg.

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has stated that he had an "amazing evening" as he came off the bench to score five times against Wolfsburg.

The Poland international entered the fray in the second half with Bayern a goal down, but netted five goals in the space of just nine minutes to earn his side a 5-1 victory.

Lewandowski has admitted that he has been humbled by the response to his performance from supporters.

"It was an amazing evening for me," he wrote on Instagram. "I entered the pitch to help the team.

"I did help and that is the most important for me! I would personally like to thank everyone for the congratulations coming from all over the world.

"We play every three days and I must focus on the next game now! Again, thank you to all my fans."

Bayern continue their Bundesliga campaign when they face Mainz 05 on Saturday.
