Half-Time Report: Max Meyer pulls Schalke 04 level with Bayern Munich

Schalke 04 are drawing 1-1 at home to Bayern Munich at half time after a Max Meyer equaliser.

Schalke 04 head into the break level at 1-1 with Bayern Munich after Max Meyer cancelled out David Alaba's early strike.

Bayern took the lead after nine minutes as Alaba struck the ball from distance, it deflected off Leon Goretzka and bounced off the ground to loop over Ralf Fahrmann and give the champions the lead.

Robert Lewandowski came close to adding to the score moments later as the ball came to the Polish international, but his effort from inside the box curled just wide of the post.

However, Schalke equalisied with their first attack of the game as Leroy Sane ran at the Munich defence before playing a pass to Meyer, who cut in from the left and curled the ball beyond former Schalke goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

Lewandowski continued to trouble the hosts' defence and had another chance after half-an-hour but the former Dortmund man could only find the hands of Fahrmann in goal to keep the scores level at half time.
