Half-Time Report: Pepe Reina sent off in goalless first half

Pepe Reina is sent off before the visitors miss a penalty as Bayern Munich and Augsburg play out a goalless first half at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern Munich have reached half time goalless against Augsburg despite losing Pepe Reina to an early red card at the Allianz Arena.

It was bright start from Augsburg as they threatened early on with a Raul Bobadilla effort which was easily stopped by Reina, who was making a rare start in place of Manuel Neuer.

Reina's afternoon would be over just a few minutes later as the Spaniard brought down Bobadilla inside the box to give the referee no other choice but to show him a red card.

Neuer replaced Philipp Lahm to face the spot kick, but the opportunity was wasted when Paul Verhaegh struck the post with his penalty.

The lively Bobadilla threatened again moments later when he fired a shot over after being picked out by Baba Rahman.

Bayern looked bright with 10 men as Mario Gotze twice threatened to break the deadlock before Augsburg missed a great chance when Halil Altintop sliced wide from close range.

Robert Lewandowski came agonisingly close to handing Bayern the lead just before the break when he rattled the crossbar as Augsburg survived a spell of pressure from the hosts.
