Bayer Laverkusen were held to a 1-1 draw by Borussia Monchengladbach at BayArena in the Bundesliga this afternoon.

Patrick Herrmann put the visitors ahead after just three minutes before Leverkusen hit back on 12 minutes through Michal Kadlec.

Leverkusen striker Andre Schurrle spurned a glorious chance to give his side the lead on 70 minutes when he missed a penalty.

Leverkusen have drawn all four of their league games this season and remain just three points above the drop zone in 12th, while Monchengladbach stay 9th in the Bundesliga.
