Barnsley sign Luke Berry from Cambridge United

Cambridge United midfielder Luke Berry makes the switch to Barnsley on a three-year deal.

Midfielder Luke Berry believes that he will be able to make the "step up" to League One after signing for Barnsley from Cambridge United.

Berry starred for Cambridge as they won promotion from the Conference Premier last season, but despite leaving his hometown club, the midfielder is excited to play at a higher level.

The 22-year-old told the club's official website: "I heard of interest a few weeks ago and I'm delighted that it's gone through. I think that I can step up and I'm excited to play with better players.

"I'm a box-to-box midfielder. I'll get goals, I like to create things and I like to think that I can bring quite a lot to the table."

Berry scored 14 goals in 47 appearances during the previous campaign.
