Everton are reportedly eager to sign Barcelona centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo on loan.
The Toffees, who have started their 2020-21 Premier League season with back-to-back wins, will attempt to bring a new central defender to the club before the deadline at the start of October.
Injuries to Mason Holgate and Jarrad Branthwaite has left head coach Carlo Ancelotti short of options at the back, and the Italian has previously spoken of the need to boost numbers in that area of the field.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Barca's Todibo is being considered by the Merseyside giants, with the 20-year-old said to be available on a short-term basis this summer.
The defender joined Barca from Toulouse in January 2019, but he has only made five first-team appearances for the Catalan giants and finished last season on loan with Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga.
Everton will continue their Premier League season away to Crystal Palace this weekend.
