Celta Vigo: 'Nolito would be a major loss'

Celta Vigo boss Eduardo Berizzo admits that it would be "a major loss" if Spanish forward Nolito left for Barcelona this summer.

Celta Vigo boss Eduardo Berizzo has said that it would be "a major loss" if Nolito were to leave the Spanish club this summer.

The Spanish international, who scored 13 goals and registered 13 league assists in the league last season, has been linked with a move to Barcelona, who are expected to lose Pedro to Manchester United.

Berizzo has admitted that Nolito would likely depart if the Catalan giants were to meet the attacker's release clause, which is believed to stand in the region of £13m.

"If someone pays the clause, we look for a replacement," Berizzo has been quoted as saying by Mundo Deportivo.

"It's the same with any other player. It would be a major loss and would require a major search. Sometimes a replacement involves a new dream.

"The players we have signed have been to make the team better. Anyone who leaves, we'll look in the market for a replacement."

Should Nolito join Barcelona this summer, he would not be able to play until January.
