Barcelona 'want to sign Sergino Dest this summer'

Barcelona are reportedly keen to bring Ajax defender Sergino Dest to Camp Nou this summer.

The 19-year-old, who represents the United States at international level despite being born in the Netherlands, has been linked with Bayern Munich during the current market.

The teenager has allegedly already turned down the advances of Bayern, though, as he is desperate to secure a move to Camp Nou before the October 5 transfer deadline.

According to Mundo Deportivo, new Barca boss Ronald Koeman wants Dest as a long-term replacement for Nelson Semedo, and the La Liga champions are prepared to sanction a move.

The report claims that Ajax value Dest in the region of €20m (£18m), but Barca could attempt to sign him on loan this summer and agree to a permanent transfer in 2021.

The youngster scored twice and provided six assists in 36 outings at club level last term.
