The Ballon d'Or is the most prestigious individual award in football, and the 2005 edition was handed out on this day 19 years ago.
Some legendary names battled for the prize at the end of an unforgettable year that saw Jose Mourinho cap his first season in English football by leading Chelsea to the Premier League title, Barcelona claim the La Liga crown, and most memorably Liverpool come from 3-0 down to win the Champions League final against AC Milan.
Representatives of those clubs were all in the running to be named the world's best player that year, and in total 24 different players received a vote for the award.
The winner was a clear one in the end, though, with 33 of the 52 voting nations choosing him as their top choice, and 50 of the 52 including him in their top four.
Here, to celebrate the anniversary of the award ceremony, Sports Mole is challenging you to name every player who garnered a Ballon d'Or vote that year.
