Luis Suarez scores first Barcelona goal

In a friendly encounter with Barcelona B, Luis Suarez scores his first goal since moving to Spain from Liverpool.

Luis Suarez scored his first goal in Barcelona colours this afternoon.

The Uruguayan striker, who joined the La Liga outfit from Liverpool for a reported £75m in July, has been prevented from making his competitive debut for Barcelona because of the suspension that was imposed on him by FIFA for biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup.

However, on appeal, the 27-year-old was granted permission to feature in friendly encounters before the ban ends prior to next month's El Clasico with Real Madrid.

As a result, he was included in the Barcelona B side's starting lineup against an Indonesian Under-19 side today.

He took just 12 minutes to open his account, which doubled his team's advantage. The first goal of the contest was scored by Thomas Vermaelen, who arrived at the Camp Nou from Arsenal earlier this summer.
